Santa Barbara is blessed with many fine restaurants. I guess we must eat out a lot here. Everyone has their gems—there is something for every taste. Here are my favorite hangouts, in no particular order. These are personal to me. Cuisine: Italian. Price: $8 to over $12 Serving: Lunch & Dinner Hours: Sun-Thu 11:30am-9pm, Fri-Sat 11:30am-10pm Address: 729 State St, Santa Barbara, California Phone: 805-963-8123 Email: info@pascuccirestaurant.com"> info@pascuccirestaurant.comWeb site: http://www.pascuccirestaurant.com/What you'll find: is my favorite restaurant in town. I go there for the atmosphere—casual, like being inside an Italian courtyard—and great, light Italian food. It's very reasonable, which is why you see people lined up to get in (they don't take reservations). But unless the line goes down the street, don't worry: it's big inside. Lunch time is a good time to go because you don't have to wait to get in. It's a fun restaurant.

Cuisine: American, Seafood Price: $10 - $20 Serving: Lunch & Dinner Hours: Weekdays: Sun-Thu 11am-10pm, Weekends: Fri-Sat 11am-11pm Address: Santa Barbara Harbor, Santa Barbara, California Phone: (805) 966-4418 Web site: http://brophybros.com/ What you'll find: For a nice lunch or dinner with spectacular views of the yacht harbor and the mountains, there's nothing to beat Brophy Brothers. If you walk out to the Breakwater to look at boats anchored in the marina just look up and you'll see it. They specialize in sea food. My favorite is fish and chips and oyster shooters. They have a full bar. Nice place to relax and watch the sun set after work. They don't take reservations but they give you a beeper so you can stoll along the breakwater until you are paged. Voted Santa Barbara's Best Seafood Restaurant!

Cuisine: German Hours: Wed-Sat 11am-8pm Address: 4203 State St, Santa Barbara, California Phone: (805) 967-4911 What you'll find: First I have to explain that the food is great here. But it's kind of funky, in a charming way. Hearty German food and great roast beef sandwiches. They have a classic beer garden and a cozy inside dining room. It's been around since 1926 and I think it's Santa Barbara's best kept secret. Wonderful wurst. Try the wienerschnitzel and a glass of beer.

Cuisine: American Price: $10 - $20 Serving: Lunch & Dinner Hours: Mon-Sat 11am-11pm, Sun 9am-11pm Address: 702 Anacapa St, Santa Barbara, California Phone: (805) 962-4416 What you'll find: This is another one of my favorite restaurants. The setting is a refurbished, formerly Mexican, café with an outdoor patio and indoor casual dining. Nice bar. Good art collection. Lots of locals here. They have a lot of great food, and I recommend it all, but . . . they have the best hamburger in town, hands down. I like the Paradise Burger with extra sauce. They also have one of the best wine lists around.
